We are holding the event on Saturday May 31st from 10am to 2:30pm to Define and Design the future of E Street. This workshop will be held in front of 420 E Street at the corner of 5th, where it will be visible to passers by. We will discuss the many opportunities and challenges that E Street presents as a starting point for creating a vibrant Arts and Entertainment District in the heart of the City.
This stage of the Bounce Back Planning efforts will focus on transforming E Street into an attractive gateway to all that Marysville has to offer, and leveraging E Street’s significant assets to showcase the city’s aspirations and unique charm.
From 10am to 12pm participants will Define and Design a vision for the future of E Street: Is E Street an Arts and Entertainment District? If so what should it look like? What types of shops and venues should locate there? What types of entertainment would attract visitors or entice the nearby workforce?
During lunch, we will mingle in the shade and present some of the mornings ideas.
The afternoon session will empower participants to map their city as a “Village”, defining connections from E Street to surrounding districts, including the Medical Arts District, Ellis Lake, D Street, and the River. We will explore ideas to enhance the physical and psychological connections to inform visitors and residents alike.
This is our first creative placemaking effort as part of our process and we are working to connect Youth, the nearby Hospital, and the merchants into the process of how Arts and Entertainment can be a driver in economic development moving forward. We look forward to sharing our findings!
